Fast track your career with a diverse workload!

Due to increasing workloads and the need to expand our capacity we need an Intermediate Planner to assist us.

We are a small but busy Planning team in the early stages of our District Plan review. The Council is also looking to develop its heritage, urban design and biodiversity capabilities which offers scope for project work that goes beyond the statutory planning role. This creates a fantastic opportunity to develop your career or gain valuable experience in resource management consenting.

You must have an understanding of the Resource Management Act, a tertiary qualification in resource management, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience is necessary but consideration will be given to motivated individuals looking to develop their skillsets.

You will be working alongside other dynamic Planners and experienced leaders. The position involves the full range of diverse planning opportunities that working with a small team allows, while delivering exceptional service to your customers.

Waitaki District is in growth mode with opportunities to unlock our potential heritage, waterfront, landscape and biodiversity resources. Help shape the future of the Waitaki District and make the most of the lifestyle we have to offer: great lakes, ski fields, mountain bike and 4WD tracks, epic wilderness and unique wildlife. The district has extensive Maori and Victorian heritage, award winning restaurants and wineries along with a town full of fantastic urban facilities including an art gallery, library, museum, swimming pool and opera house.
